                         Amaz{\^o}nia ainda n{\~a}o est{\'a} bem compreendida, existindo
                         condi{\c{c}}{\~o}es atmosf{\'e}ricas diurnas. Pois, a
                         gera{\c{c}}{\~a}o mec{\^a}nica de turbul{\^e}ncia pelo
                         cisalhamento do vento durante a noite e a destrui{\c{c}}{\~a}o
BAM (Brazilian Global Atmospheric model).
transporte vertical turbulento noturno e, tamb{\'e}m, a fatores
de grandes escala. ABSTRACT: The formation of deep convection in
the Amazon is not yet well understood. There is a deficiency of
its representation in the physical processes of numerical models
of weather and climate forecasting. It is hypothesized here that
the different flow regimes at night affect the daytime atmospheric
conditions, as the mechanical generation of turbulence by wind
shear at night and thermal destruction by stability causes
different flow regimes to occur in the Nocturnal Boundary Layer
(NBL). The aim of this study was to investigate the importance of
the NBL in the occurrence or not of deep convection during the day
in the central region of the Amazon through an observational and
modeling study. For the observational part, we used the GOAmazon
2014/5 experiment data, and for the modeling part, the CPTEC
global model BAM (Brazilian Global Atmospheric Model). The most
important results are listed here: i) radiosondes wind data,
Doppler data, and modeling experiments, show that there is a clear
relationship between horizontal wind intensity and humidity above
NBL with the formation or not of deep convective clouds during the
day and ii) modeling experiments show that weak winds and high
humidity values above the NBL (in the residual layer), as well as
the occurrence of heavy rainfall in the Central Amazon during the
day, are associated with vertical turbulent mixing during the
night as well as with large-scale factors.",
