AbstractA busca por propulsores de baixo custo, boa confiabilidade, baixo impacto ambiental e nível de segurança elevado aumentam o interesse pelo desenvolvimento dos propulsores híbridos. Este trabalho descreve o projeto, a construção e a operacionalização de uma bancada de testes de propulsores híbridos com empuxo até 500 N. Um propulsor híbrido de 400 N usando parafina sólida como combustível e óxido nitroso líquido como oxidante foi projetado, construído e testado na bancada. O propulsor conta com sistema de injeção centrífugo, ignitor eletrotérmico catalítico e tubeira refrigerada. A bancada permite testes com pressões até 150 bar no tanque de oxidante e vazões até 600 kg/h do oxidante e dispõe de sistema de aquisição e controle com 32 canais. ABSTRACT: The quest for thrusters of low cost, good reliability, low environmental impact and high safety levels increased the interest for development of hybrid thrusters. This work describes the design, construction and operationalization of a stand for testing hybrid thrusters with thrusts up to 500 N. A 400 N hybrid thruster using solid paraffin as fuel and nitrous oxide as oxidizer was designed, built and tested in the stand. The thruster includes a pressure swirl injector, an electro thermal catalytic ignitor and nozzles with and without water cooling. The stand allows tests with oxidizer tank pressures up to 150 bar, oxidant mass flow rates up to 600 kg/h controlled by Coriolis flow meter and controller and includes a data acquisition and control system with 32 channels.
