Abstract | As estimativas de precipitação utilizando dados de satélite tem sido uma ferramenta importantíssima para o monitoramento do ciclo de água sobre o Brasil. O Hydro-Estimator, operacionalizado na DSA/CPTEC/INPE, é um modelo baseado em imagens de satelites geoestacionários o que permite um acompanhamento continuo da precipitação. O objetivo desse trabalho foi realizar o ajuste do Hydro-Estimator ao regime de precipitação da região Sul-Sudeste do Brasil e avaliar suas estimativas. Foram utilizados dados de refletividade do radar de Bauru (SP) para o ajuste do modelo, e as comparações foram realizadas com as acumulações diárias de pluviômetros e saídas mensais do modelo 3B-43 (NASA). ABSTRACT: Satellite rainfall estimates have been an important tool for water cycle monitoring over Brazil. The Hydro-estimator, currently operational at DSA/CPTEC/INPE is a model based on geostationary satellite imagery, allowing continuous rainfall monitoring. The main goal of this work was to adjust the hydro-estimator for the rainfall regime found over Southern and Southeastern regions of Brazil and evaluate its results. Reflectivity data from Bauru (SP) radar were used to adjust the model, and comparisons were made using rain gauge data and monthly estimates from the NASA 3B43 rainfall product. |
